The African Village Institute is a community platform dedicated to uniting individuals of African descent living in Slovenia and those interested in African culture, history, and future. Our primary objective is to celebrate and promote African culture while promoting social cohesion and inclusivity.
At the African Village Institute, we recognize the importance of building a robust community within the African diaspora in Slovenia. We warmly welcome individuals from all backgrounds who share our passion for African culture and history.
Through our series of themed evenings, lectures, presentations, and workshops, we strive to deepen our understanding of Africa and foster a positive perception of African culture. We are committed to bridging intercultural differences and promoting social ties between members of the African community and their surroundings.
To further our mission, we have established Petit Afrique, a small African shop that provides specialized food and beauty products to the African community in Slovenia. All proceeds generated from the shop are reinvested into organizing cultural events and providing advice and support to migrants.
In the future, we aim to establish an African Cultural Centre, which will serve as a hub for individuals interested in African culture, history, and future. The centre will offer a space for cultural exchange and promote business, tourism, and academic links between Slovenia and Africa.
We are dedicated to promoting African culture and history, fostering social ties and inclusivity, and building a vibrant community within the African diaspora in Slovenia. Join us in celebrating and promoting African culture and history, and help us create a more inclusive and cohesive society.
